Nosara has three beaches of great beauty: Nosara, Guiones and Pelada, seven kilometers from Ostional beach, which belongs to the canton of Santa Cruz, where almost every month thousands of turtles come to lay their eggs, especially the olive ridley turtle, Lepidochelys olivacea, whose nesting habits are widely known, and the hawksbill turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata.
